01) Motorcycle Crash

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified Horace John Miller as the victim who perished on the night of Nov. 13 due to a vehicular crash on Highway 52 and Stephanie Drive in the City of Goose Creek.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Miller was reportedly operating a motorcycle while wearing a helmet at the time of his collision with an automobile. No other details have been furnished on the fatality as law enforcement continues to investigate the matter.

The Goose Creek Gazette has reached out to the Goose Creek Department for a report on the crash in question.

In an update of this tragedy, Goose Creek PD provided a media release on the incident on Tuesday afternoon. It detailed that the traffic accident took place at about 7:30 p.m. and saw the motorcycle — traveling southbound on Highway 52 — make contact with a Toyota Prius turning left onto Stephanie Drive. 

The motorcycle — featuring a malfunctioning headlight — struck the side of the Prius, which ejected the motorcyclist from his bike. 

The two occupants of the Prius were examined at a nearby hospital and were reported to have non-life threatening injuries.
