Four students from the Cane Bay Choirs were selected, by audition, for the 9-10 All-Carolina Select Choir.

These students auditioned against 600 ninth- and 10th-grade students from across North Carolina and South Carolina, to earn four of the coveted 160 choir positions.

The students selected were as follows:

Jamie Baker – Tenor 1

Robert Bare – Bass 1

Anna Brown – Soprano 1

Lenyah Bryan – Alto 2

Students traveled to Wingate, North Carolina and performed at the 9-10 All-Carolina Select Choir Concert, which took place Jan. 26, at George A. Batte Jr. Fine Arts Center on the Wingate University of North Carolina campus.

Performance pieces included "Kyrie" by W.A. Mozart, "Travelin’ Home" by Andrea Ramsey, "Lord, Give me Just a Little More Time," arranged by Derrick Fox, "Echo" by Tom Shelton and "Cover Me with the Night" by Andrea Ramsey with Robert Bare as part of the featured quartet.

This is the sixth year Wingate University Department of Music of Wingate, North Carolina has organized and hosted this event.

While choir students were working with clinician Andrea Ramsey, an ASCAPlus award-winning composer, the choral directors partook in a Choral Educators Summit with Kenney Potter Director of Choral Activities at Wingate University and Eric Wilkinson co-author of Habits of a Successful Choir Director.
