A Goose Creek man is facing multiple charges for sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.

On Wednesday in a press release, Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Joshua Shane Burnette. At least 10 charges of sexual exploitation of a minor have been filed against the 33-year-old on accusations he possessed and distributed files containing child pornography, the release stated.

Goose Creek police, with aid from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, arrested Burnette on Monday.

Burnette is specifically charged with three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and seven counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to state authorities. Prison time of up to 10 years is attached to each count.

Investigators with the Attorney General's Office, also a task force member, assisted the investigation.
