Helping Hands of Goose Creek has been serving the local area since June 1989.

The need for food assistance has grown due to the economy and job loss.

With that in mind, a special project called “Hundred Boxes for Helping Hands of Goose Creek” has begun.

This food collection effort’s goal is to fill 100 boxes to fill the shelves at Helping Hands of Goose Creek before Easter for those who are in need of food for themselves and their families.

Some items for your consideration are cereal box and bags, canned fruit, noodles, (mac and cheese or egg noodles), soup (canned/Ramen), beef stew and canned meats such as tuna, Spam, chicken or ham.

"This increased food need is a challenge to be able to assist those (in need),” Helping Hands of Goose Creek Board President Janet Rein said. “This collection project will help to replenish our shelves with ample food to distribute.”

Please call to help with this collection project.  Boxes can be provided, and picked up by HHGC. Call 553-7132.
