Audiology Practice Sponsors Essay Contest to Give Hearing Instruments to Deserving Individual

  • Thursday, October 25, 2012

In the spirit of the holidays, Dr. Beth Alberto and Dr. Chuck Whitfield, audiologists at Hearing Care of Summerville, want to provide a pair of digital hearing instruments for a deserving individual who otherwise might not be able to acquire them.
“The holidays are a time of connecting with others,” says Dr. Beth “We want to help someone enjoy all of the sounds of the season without worrying about still trying to make ends meet.”
Hearing Care of Summerville will accept essays of 500 words or less that describe how an individual deserves and would benefit from new hearing instruments. Nominations will be judged by an independent panel based on the following criteria: degree of hearing loss, how the individual has overcome hearing loss, financial need and inability to acquire quality instruments, and how winning new instruments would impact his/her life.  Submissions should be mailed to Hearing Care of Summerville, 208A East 2nd North Street, Summerville SC 29483 and must be postmarked by Oct. 31. Nominees may be asked to provide a recent audiogram.  The winner will be announced during the practice’s Patient Appreciation Day celebration on Nov. 15.
Hearing Care of Summerville is committed to providing quality, compassionate hearing healthcare for all ages, from infancy to adulthood. Beth Alberto and Chuck Whitfield, our Doctors of Audiology, employ the latest technology and information to educate and engage each individual patient to select the best hearing solution to fit their needs and budget.
