Red Cross assists Cypress Gardens Road residents after fire

  • Monday, September 1, 2014

American Red Cross volunteers provided assistance to a family of four on Sunday, Aug. 31.

The family’s Cypress Garden Road home was destroyed by fire. The Pimlico and Whiteville Fire Departments responded to the blaze.

The Red Cross provided the family with temporary housing, referrals to partner agencies to help with the victims’ long term recovery, comfort kits containing personal hygiene items, as well as financial assistance for food and clothing lost in the fire.

Since Jan. 1 of this year, the Palmetto SC Region of the American Red Cross has assisted more than 1,700 individuals affected by disaster.
