Governor’s School announces new appointments

The South Carolina Governorís School for Science and Mathematics has announced the appointment of the following individuals to the Board of Trustees:

Dr. Joe A. Griffin, III, Griffin Plastic Surgery, Florence; John M. Barnes, Jr., Exec. Vice President, Comporium, Rock Hill; and Randal M. Senn, CIO, SCANA, Columbia.

The mission of the South Carolina Governorís School for Science & Mathematics is to offer our stateís most academically motivated students a unique learning environment that strengthens their ability to think critically, stimulates the joy of learning and fosters the excitement of discovery through hands-on scientific research.

The purpose of GSSM is to positively impact South Carolinaís economic development through the cultivation of our current students and alumni, who are our stateís future political and business leaders.

The three new board members join 15 current members from across the state.
