Are you ready to celebrate the upcoming football season?

The Goose Creek Gazette and its sister papers, the Summerville Journal Scene and Berkeley Independent, will host the 2014 High School Football Kickoff, a free community event, from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 24 at Charleston Southern University.

The pep rally will include music, entertainment and activities for kids – not to mention a chance to win a 32-inch LED TV. Visit www.ourgazette.com and click on the link at the right side of the page for details.

The event will also feature a Best Decorated Car contest so deck out your car in your team’s colors.

The Mighty Mites, a Sertoma league for 5 and 6 year olds, will play a 20-minute flag football game.

Football players, cheerleaders and band members from local teams are being invited to attend, and everyone is encouraged to wear team colors to show team spirit.

Nathan Henderson of Henderson & Associates @ Carolina One Real Estate is the title sponsor of the event.
