Did you know that it costs about $17-$30 to purchase the supplies for one Berkeley County elementary school student, $27-$51 for one middle school student, and $500 per teacher per classroom?
Berkeley County School District has made changes to its annual Stuff the Bus supplies drive and has also unveiled the option for year-round giving dedicated toward supply donations for students.
The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Unlike previous years, this year will not have Rally Day collection events at area Wal-Marts. Schools and area businesses are still collecting supplies for students in need, and partners looking to help with the effort can contact McIntosh@bcsdschools.net or 843-899-8732.

The homepages of the district and its schools will now feature a “Support Our District” button that directs potential donors to nonprofit charity South Carolina Future Minds, which connects private donors to public schools. From now until Sept. 3, contributions will be used to purchase supplies for Berkeley County students in need.
