Goose Creek police discovered a methamphetamine operation at a vacant home on Clarine Drive on Thursday afternoon, according to a police report.

Officers responded to a call from a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the rear of the house and a person near where the smoke was emanating.

An officer found a man and woman at the scene, who were questioned and detained.

A search of a rear closet of the house where the two suspects were found turned up multiple bottles that police said were “actively cooking methamphetamine” and other narcotic equipment.

The neighbor also reported that he had informed Goose Creek police the day before that locks had been broken on sheds on the property.

The suspects, Amanda Christine Cerny, 31, and Jeffery Louis Breymeier, 20, both of Goose Creek, were charged with manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine and burglary, according to the report. Both were taken to Berkeley County Detention Center and processed.

The Goose Creek Fire Department also responded and blocked off part of the street as a safety precaution.
