A man robbed a Rite Aid Pharmacy on Friday afternoon, Goose Creek police spokesman John Grainger confirmed.

At approximately 2:05 p.m., officers from the Goose Creek Police Department were dispatched to the Rite Aid at 214 St. James Ave. in reference to a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers met with pharmacy staff, who advised that a white male had approached the pharmacy counter, revealed a pistol that was and remained in his waistband, and demanded a particular controlled substance.

The requested substance was placed in a shopping bag and handed to the suspect, at which time he fled the store via the front door and got into a green vehicle that was waiting in front of the store. The vehicle left the premises and traveled onto Central Avenue.

Police said the robbery suspect is a white male wearing a dark hat. He has 843 tattooed to his neck and tattoos on both of his forearms. The driver of the vehicle was a white male. No other description of the driver is available.

There were no injuries attributed to this incident.

Police said investigation is ongoing and that the release of further details at this time would hamper investigative efforts.
