Recognizing authors that put their heart and soul into their work, the National Indie Excellence Awards is proud to be a champion of self-publishers and small and independent presses that go the extra mile to produce books of excellence in every aspect.  Awarded since 2007, the awards competition is judged by independent experts from all aspects of the Indie book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters.

Winners and finalists are determined based on overall excellence of presentation in addition to the writing.

In The Lost Mermaid~Return to the Raspberry Kingdom, readers discover a sunken treasure on a pirate ship while learning valuable lessons about the importance of teamwork, friendship and gentle approaches to bullies. In The Lost Mermaid~A Shem Creek Moonlight Jamboree, readers attend a musical jamboree in Shem Creek and learn about the importance of kindness and the danger of judging others by appearance or language.
