The National Hurricane Center has released its Wednesday forecast saying Tropical Storm Arthur, the first named storm of hurricane season, will become a hurricane as it stays off shore traveling past the Charleston area Thursday.
The storm is now expected to strike the southern Outer Banks of North Carolina, Bogue Inlet to Oregon Inlet, early Friday morning.
Coastal areas from Florida to North Carolina should expect 1-2 inches of rain. Some areas could see up to 4 inches of rain.
