Nucor Steel worker from Goose Creek killed in accident

A Nucor Steel Plant worker from Goose Creek died Thursday after an accident at the plant.

On the morning of June 12, 44-year-old Cisco Agbunag was injured when a large piece of equipment fell on him. According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, Mr. Agbunag was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and OSHA. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, Salisbury confirmed.

More information will be released after the autopsy.
