Goose Creek Post 166 has added a game with state power Florence Post 1 to the schedule.

The two teams will play at Goose Creek High School on Friday night at 7:30.

Post 1 is 11-1 overall and 9-0 in League II after sweeping Horry Post 111. They capped the series with a 28-0 win on Wednesday.

"They're good every year and we expect them to be really good again," Post 166 coach Josh Kubisz said.

Florence has four players that were in college this past spring and nine others are committed to colleges.

Goose Creek is 3-1 overall and 3-1 in League 1 play. Post 166 is coming off a 13-3 win over the Lowcountry Heat on Tuesday.

Asher Smith will get the start on the mound for Post 166. Kubisz indicated Goose Creek will throw "everyone."

Four Florence players have ties to the Lowcountry. Zach McKay is a current RHP at the Citadel and outfielder Clay Martin is a Citadel commitment.

RHP JK Love is headed to the College of Charleston next season but threw last night in the win over Horry.

Logan McRae, a 1B/3B, is a C of C commit too but will be participating in the North-South games this weekend.

Florence is coached by former South Carolina Gamecock Derick Urquhart, who went on to play five years of minor league baseball, reaching as high as Triple A with the then-Anaheim Angels.

Post 1 was state champion in 2012 and runner-up last summer.
