Biggers set to replace Chalus at Stratford

  • Thursday, June 12, 2014

The very first Stratford High School baseball player to get drafted back in 1987 is the new leader of the program.

Alan Biggers will replace John Chalus, who retired after last season to take the school's athletics director position.

Biggers was a 12th round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals and played three years in the minor leagues.

He was an assistant under Chalus, who won 463 games in 23 seasons on Crowfield Boulevard. He had one state title.
