Laura Marie Frazier of Goose Creek graduated on Friday, May 23, from the S.C. Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, located in Greenville.
As a young student, Laura attended Devon Forest Elementary and Westview Middle School where she participated in the Berkeley County School District’s Student Talent Enrichment Program (STEP) from the 3rd through 8th grades, concentrating in the visual arts. She attended Stratford High School before auditioning in her sophomore year for the SCGSAH where she was accepted as a residential student for her junior and senior years of high school.
SCGSAH is an audition-only, public school serving artistically talented high school students of South Carolina through rigorous programs of pre-professional instruction with an emphasis on the arts and academics. While at the Governor’s School, Laura earned a Silver Key in the 2014 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. She earned a merit scholarship to attend the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, where she will major in animation beginning this fall.
