The hunt for the alleged killer of a Goose Creek woman is over.

According to officials, Darryl Edward Flowers has been arrested by state police in Maryland, after being pulled over

Thursday morning.

Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Moon confirmed the arrest.

Flower allegdly shot 36-year-old Tammy Flowers to death, and wounded two others.

“He is being charged with murder and attempted murder,” Moon said.

Moon said the search included cooperation between different agencies.

“It went very smoothly ... Goose Creek assisted us. (The shooting took place) on the outskirts of Goose Creek and they assisted us tremendously,” Moon said.

A citizen reported a stolen SUV on Hwy. 52 yesterday, which helped the early phases of the manhunt.

“Through investigation we deteremined that he was heading north, and we had a pretty good idea where,” Moon said.

“We issued a BOLO, and authorities all along the east coast helped. It was good cooperation among everybody.”

The arrest ended a 12-hour manhunt for Flowers, who allegedly shot his estranged wife to death in Goose Creek Wednesday afternoon.

Moon said that the BCSO believed that the suspect had been heading to the northeast U.S.

Flowers was the primary suspect in the shooting.

Moon said Flowers apparently stole another car yesterday in Goose Creek and there is no known motive for the shooting.

“We do know that he had lived in the house at one time, but they weren’t living together,” Moon said.

The victim has been identified Tammy Flowers, 36, residing at 52 Elmwood Place, Goose Creek.

Also wounded were two teenage girls, BSCO officials said.

According to reports, Tammy Flowers was found around 4 p.m. outside the front door of her Elmwood Place home.

Both girls were transported to an area hospital, according to reports.

The BCSO enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshal Service in their search for Flowers.
