Goose Creek High School senior volleyball player Diemend Richardson has signed a national letter of intent to further her career in college.
Richardson, the school’s all-time leader in career assists with 1,983, is headed to Grambling State in Louisiana.
“She has been a great asset to the program,” GCHS coach Jay Watterworth said. “She will be missed by coaches and teammates. We wish her the best of luck.”
Watterworth also said Richardson plans to pursue her study to become a nurse.
This past season, Richardson earned a spot on the Class AAA-AAA North-South volleyball team.
Richardson had 499 assists, 147 digs and 69 kills for the Gators, who finished 16-15-2 and made the Class AAAA playoffs.
