Goose Creek Mayor Michael Heitzler, Mayor Pro Tem Kimo Esarey, Councilmember Mark Phillips, along with newly elected Councilmember Debra Green-Fletcher, all took the oath of office on the morning of May 9 in the Council Chambers of the Marguerite H. Brown Municipal Center.
Judge Shirley Johnson administered the oath.
The recently-completed election marks Heitzler’s 10th term in office, Mayor Pro Tem Kimo Esarey’s fifth term and Councilmember Mark Phillps’ eighth term in office.
Green-Fletcher was set to began her first day in office on May 10.
The City of Goose Creek Municipal Election was held April 8 to fill four seats on City Council.
Green-Fletcher will fill the seat vacated by Councilmember Marguerite H. Brown, who served since 1975.
