It all comes down to this.

The state track and field championships are Friday and Saturday at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.

Some dreams will be realized, others crushed.

The state qualifying meets were held Saturday and the final fields are set for the top eight in each event. Local thinclads will be in the mix for individual and team crowns.

In Class AAA, the Hanahan High School boys are in line to make a run at a state title, their first since 2011. Led by Sam Denmark and Kahlim Denmark, who will compete in four events apiece, the Hawks have athletes qualified for 13 events.

Greg Casselman and Andrew Conyers are in three events for Hanahan.

The lone top seed for an event is Hanahan’s 1,600-meter relay team. That group is Casselman, Sam Denmark, Kahlim Denmark and Conyers.

In Class AAAA, Goose Creek High School sprinter Deondre Daniels is in three events.

The Class AAA and Class AAAA meets begin at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The last event is set for 1:10 p.m. on Saturday.

Class A and Class AA events begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission is $5 for Friday and $8 for Saturday.

Below is a complete listing of qualifiers from Goose Creek, Stratford, Hanahan and Cane Bay high schools. Full heat sheets and schedule of events can be found at www.scrunners.com.
