Kristina Friend, a Stratford High School senior, led an effort to feed veterans an Easter dinner.
Fleet Reserve Branch 269 and the Ladies Auxiliary supported her effort financially and with volunteers.
Kristina is an Honors Graduate, a National Honor Society member, in the Drama Club, has a job and is planning on attending College of Charleston.
She is a young entrepreneur who owns her own health and wellness business, is active in her church and has volunteered several hours at the Pinewood Home.
Two years ago, Kristina asked her mother if their family could do something charitable for Christmas instead of “Christmas as usual.”
Her mother suggested doing something for the Vets Village. Kristina’s mother and father are U.S. Navy veterans and Fleet Reserve members.
Their first Christmas dinner was much appreciated, which lead us to the Easter Dinner.
