The City of Goose Creek held its Third Annual Beach and BBQ Festival on Saturday, April 26 behind City Hall.

This year the festival featured a Backyard BBQ Cookoff for local amateur cookers to prove they are the best in Goose Creek. Ten teams were given between eight and nine pounds of Boston Butt and were judged on the appearance, taste and tenderness of the meat.

First Place was awarded to “Smokin’ Os,” Second Place was awarded to “Butt Nasty” and Third Place went to “Spank-N-Rub BBQ.”

Each winner received a cash prize and trophy.

The City thanks all of the teams and judges for participating this year. For more information about the cookoff or the winners, call 569-4242 or visit www.cityofgoosecreek.com.
