City’s ‘Beach and BBQ’ fest Saturday

File Residents enjoy the Beach and BBQ festival in Goose Creek.

The City of Goose Creek will present its Third Annual Beach and BBQ Festival on Saturday, April 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. behind City Hall located at 519 N. Goose Creek Blvd.

This free, family-friendly festival will feature live music from Shem Creek Boogie Band sponsored by Goose Creek Heating and Air, a corn-hole tournament and kid’s play area sponsored by the Goose Creek Recreation Booster Club.

New to the festival is the Backyard BBQ Cook-off featuring 10 local barbecue teams competing for to be “Best in Goose Creek.”

Channel 2 Meteorologist Rob Fowler will be on hand to help judge the contest. Local restaurants and other food vendors will sell food and drinks. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair for seating.

Pets and outside coolers are not permitted.

All guests are encouraged to bring canned goods to benefit Helping Hands of Goose Creek. They will be on site providing souvenir hand towels to those who donate.
