Kayli Miles beats out an infield hit in the Lady Knights’ 9-2 win over York.

The Stratford Lady Knights overcame a pair of early tournament losses to win out on the final day and claim their bracket title of the Azalea Invitational Tournament in Summerville.

The Lady Knights took control of their A.I.T. “Bronze” bracket with a decisive 9-2 win over York on a soggy field at Gahagan Park.

The Lady Knights broke the game open early with six-run second inning, sending nine hitters to the plate.

Skye Moore led the inning off with a triple and would later score. Moore had three hits on the day and scored twice.

The Lady Knights would score all six runs before an out was recorded in the second.

Following Moore in the hit parade were Emily Harmon, Hannah Roberts and Lizzie Helton.

Stratford would tack on a single run in the third and two in the fourth to put the game away for pitcher Nikki Linthicum.

Linthicum went the distance in the circle allowing just two runs on six hits.

Other players getting hits for Stratford were Kayli Miles, Jordan Prince and Kayli Lehmer.
