Three suspects arrested on drug charges at Summerville motel

Agents from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested three suspects at a hotel near Summerville on multiple drug and weapons charges.

The arrests took place March 14 at the Comfort Suites hotel, according to a BCSO statement.

Agents observed a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction take place in the hotel parking lot.

They then contacted three individuals and located approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine on one of them.

Further investigation revealed they were staying in a room at the hotel.

A search warrant was obtained and the resulting search uncovered three handguns along with large amount of ammunition.

There was also approximately 15 grams of marijuana and two perforated sheets that field tested positive for LSD.

Arrested were Brandon Joshua Kirby, 27, of Summerville, Amber Crystal Ghassmzadeh, 28, of Moncks Corner and Thomas Edward Fox, 34, of North Charleston.

Kirby and Ghassmzadeh were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of LSD. Kirby was also charged as a felon in possession of a firearm.

Fox was charged with the manufacture and distribution of a form of methamphetamine known as “crystal ice” and possession with intent to distribute LSD.
