The Hanahan baseball team avenged its lone loss on Friday.
Dalton Pate tossed a complete game, four-hitter to power the Hawks to an 8-2 win over Fort Dorchester.
The win in North Charleston came on the heels of a 9-5 loss to the Patriots in Hanahan a night earlier.
Pate struck out nine batters for the Hawks (4-1), who used three-run outbursts in the first and fourth innings to win.
Seth Lancaster and Brandon Caddell had two RBIs apiece, while Christian Leakey and Donnie Roberts chipped in two hits apiece.
Josh Murray was the losing pitcher for Fort Dorchester, scattering six hits and seven runs in four innings. He struck out four and walked one.
The Patriots had four errors.
The Hawks were set to host Bishop England on Tuesday, March 25 (after press time) before beginning Region 8-AAA play on Friday, March 28 against Berkeley.
On the season, Pate is batting .533 for the Hawks while Lancaster is hitting .500.
MORE BASEBALL: The Cane Bay Cobras were blanked twice last week, falling to Summerville 5-0 on Thursday and Berkeley 6-0 on Friday.
In the loss to Summerville, the Cobras failed to collect a hit against Clemson signee Sawyer Bridges (6 IP) and reliever Bo Gobin (1 IP). The Cobras struck out 11 times.
Sophomore southpaw had a solid start for the Cobras, scattering four hits over five innings. He allowed three runs. The Cobras committed five errors.
The Cobras (2-2) were slated to begin a three-game series against defending Region 7-AAAA champion West Ashley on Monday.
TENNIS: The Stratford boys tennis team blanked Fort Dorchester 6-0 on Wednesday, March 19.
The Knights got singles victories from Dylan Sides, Garrett Wong, Jeffrey Wong, Parker Hoffman and Garrett Sides.
The doubles tandem of Anthony Yeung and Jordan Smith won at No. 2 doubles.
The Knights were set to host Cane Bay on Tuesday (after press time) before traveling to Wando on Thursday, March 27 and hosting Berkeley on Monday, March 31.
SOCCER: Hanahan defeated Berkeley 1-0 in a girls soccer match on Friday.
Abby Piedmont had the lone goal in the game for the Lady Hawks. (4-0).
Hanahan defeated Northwood a day earlier 2-0. Piedmont and Allison Hernandez had the goals.
