Stratford High School evened the score with a county rival on Friday night.
Nichole Linthicum tossed a shutout and collected three hits to power Stratford to a 3-0 softball victory over Berkeley on Friday at SHS.
“I thought we played good defense all night,” SHS coach Debra Tolar said. “Everybody was in position and everybody was ready… The good thing about what we've got is we've got a lot of people that can play anywhere on any given night.”
Linthicum struck out four batters and scattered five hits in the win. She also drove in a run to help herself as the Lady Knights avenged a 7-6 loss to the Lady Stags from earlier this month.
Jordan Prince and Emily Harmon added two hits apiece for Stratford.
Harmon's RBI double in the second inning gave Stratford a 1-0 lead.
Megan Lindberg made it 2-0 in the fourth inning with a groundout that scored Skye Moore and Linthicum pushed across Prince with a single in the fourth.
The Lady Knights improved to 7-3 with the victory.
A night earlier, Stratford defeated Fort Dorchester 10-2. Fallon Tingler was the winning pitcher and the Lady Knights pounded out 15 hits. Stratford scored all of its runs in the first three innings.
