Charleston County's Environmental Management Department staff is seeking volunteer assistance for the 2014 Charleston County Earth Day Festival, which will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. The theme of this year's festival is “Earth to Charleston.”
“Volunteers are a vital component to the success of the county's Earth Day Festival,” said Christina Moskos, Charleston County's Recycling Coordinator. “We appreciate the support we receive from the community, so please consider donating your time and energy to this year's festival.”
The purpose of Charleston County's Annual Earth Day Festival is to educate Lowcountry residents about environmental issues in a celebratory atmosphere. Activities will include an awards presentation for the winner of the Annual Earth Day Art Contest and an “art walk” to display all artwork entries, science demonstrations, and a variety of educational and interactive exhibits focused on promoting environmental stewardship. To volunteer, contact Jackie Wagner at 843-720-1966 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
