Goose Creek athletes qualify for national indoor championships

Three Goose Creek athletes have qualified for the USA Track and Field Youth National Indoor Championships.

Danielle Nowlin, Destiny McKnight and Ky’ana Webb qualified for the national meet by placing among the top six athletes for events during the USATF South Zone Youth Indoor Championships held in Birmingham, Ala. on Feb. 16.

Approximately 600 athletes from 12 states competed for the chance to advance to Nationals, which are scheduled for March 7-9 in Maryland.

McKnight placed second in the Girls 17-18 Division 55-meter Hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.67.

Nowlin placed third in the Girls 15-16 Division Long Jump with a 12-00.00 mark.

Webb placed sixth in the Girls 11-12 Division 55 Sprint with an 8.32 time and sixth in the 200 Dash with a 30.14 time.

Nowlin, McKnight and Webb compete for the East Coast Track and Field Academy.
