Berkeley Electric warns customers of scam

  • Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Berkeley Electric Cooperative has had reports from the Cross area that individuals are claiming to work for BEC and telling members that their meter base is damaged and needs to be repaired before power can be restored.

They are then offering to fix the damaged meter base for a fee.

Please be advised that these are not cooperative employees and under no circumstances will Berkeley Electric employees be taking payments for any type of repairs in the field, according to a statement on the BEC Facebook page.

Please contact the cooperative at 761-8200 immediately if you are approached by these persons.
