The Stratford basketball teams traveled to West Ashley and returned to Crowfield Boulevard tagged with Region 7-AAAA losses on Friday.
The Knights lost a tight one, 59-55, while the Lady Knights fell 53-27.
The Knights (15-7, 2-4 region) were led by Demetre Rivers, who scored a game-high 20 points. Antonio Stinson chipped in 17 points and Thad Thompson had seven points.
The Lady Knights remained winless in the region. They were led by Caliyana White with 12 points, while Sabrina Moody had seven points and Alison Skinner six points.
Stratford was set to host Wando on Tueday and closes out the regular season on Friday at home against Cane Bay.
The Stratford boys are within striking distance of the playoffs that begin Feb. 19.
• The Hanahan basketball teams split a pair of Region 8-AAA nailbiters on Friday night.
After the Lady Hawks lost to Stall, 45-44, the Hanahan boys pulled out a 66-63 victory over the Warriors.
Manny Victor led the Lady Hawks with nine points, while McKenzie Yon chipped in eight points and Alexis Harper seven.
Rodney Keener powered the Hanahan boys with 27 points. Keiontae Dubose added 14 points and Wesley Kennedy had 13 points.
The Hawks trailed going into the fourth quarter but outscored the Warriors 20-13 to rally for the victory. They were to travel to James Island Tuesday with a chance to lock in the region crown.
