Bullets shot into residence
A Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the scene of a shooting off Beverly Drive at about 11:20 p.m. on Jan. 7. The victim said someone was shooting into the residence, according to a BCSO incident report.
The victim showed the deputy two bullet holes in the residence to the left of a window beside the front door.
The holes appeared to have penetrated all the way through the wall and appeared to be made from a bullet shot from inside the residence, according to the report.
There were more bullet holes in the kitchen wall, a hallway wall and bedroom wall. A metal fryer sitting next to the exit hole had a dent in it.
The deputy found a dent in the refrigerator and a slug from a bullet lying inside a plastic bag sitting beside the refrigerator. There was another dent in the foot rail of a bed in the bedroom, but the slug was not found.
The crime scene and evidence were photographed, according to the report.
The victim said the gunshots seemed unusually loud and at first he thought they were just fireworks. He said he was standing in the kitchen at the time right beside the fryer that was struck.
There were two others on scene at the time of the shooting. All three provided a written statement, according to the report.
A 9mm handgun casing was found on Beverly Drive outside the residence. A detective arrived to investigate further.
