BCSO arrests man on meth distribution charges

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested and charged a wanted man after methamphetamine and marijuana were found in a Sandy Run Circle home near Summerville.

On Jan. 8, agents arrested Daniel A. Thornburg, 23, of Summerville, on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine at a residence located on Sandy Run Circle.

Deputies also learned Thornburg was wanted on six outstanding warrants from other area law enforcement agencies for charges including assault and battery third degree, driving under suspension and animal cruelty. His bonds for the meth and marijuana charges were set at $10,000 each while bond for the ill treatment of animals and assault and battery charges were set at $1,092 each, totaling out at $22,184 in bonds.

Bonds have not been set for his two other charges of driving under suspension and contempt of court.
