The following incidents were obtained from Goose Creek Police Department incident reports:
A $700 go-kart was recently reported stolen from a home in the Pineview Subdivision. Sometime the night before, the go-kart with roll bars was removed from the victim’s garage. There were tire marks on the pavement where the go-kart had been pushed away. The tire marks appeared to go from the garage to Laurel Avenue to the nearby hiker/biker trail.
Two Goose Creek men, one younger, one older, got into a disagreement about the crosswalk on a recent morning in front of Wal-Mart. The younger man was driving a truck through the parking lot when the older man began to yell at him and swing his keys in his face. The younger man said he was trying to park. The older man walked up to the passenger door of the younger man’s trucked and kicked it. The older man got into his vehicle and departed. The younger man said he did not wish to press charges. Two witnesses confirmed the victim’s statements. The older man came back, appeared agitated and yelled at the younger man again for almost hitting him on the crosswalk. When asked, he told the officer he kicked the vehicle. He said he would pay for the damage but he was not sorry for kicking the vehicle because the complainant needs to learn how to drive.
A Ravenel man and a Summerville woman were tracked down at the gas pumps by a Wal-Mart loss prevention employee after they shoplifted from the store on a recent morning. The two had returned a coat at the customer service desk then picked out another coat. They also picked out a hat, which the woman paid for at the self-checkout. The man walked out of the garden section with the $54 Carhartt coat but did not pay for it. He was taken to jail and charged with shoplifting, which carries at $2,130 fine.
A clerk reported recently a customer shoplifted unknown items from a gas station off St. James Avenue. The clerk noticed the subject’s jacket seemed overstuffed after he walked down the aisles. The subject went into one of the coolers and selected a beverage. The subject’s jacket was making a paper sound. The clerk ran to the phone to call police when the subject dropped three Reese’s Cup packages and fled the scene.
