Red Cross helps fire victims

The American Red Cross assisted a family of nine whose home, located at 102 St. James Blvd., Goose Creek, sustained major damage early Christmas morning, according to a press release.

The family is made up of two adults and seven children, including a six-week-old baby.

The Red Cross provided financial assistance for food, infant formula, and temporary lodging, as well as stuffed animals, t-shirts, and comfort kits containing personal hygiene items.

The Palmetto SC Region of the American Red Cross assisted more than 4,400 individuals in 2013 who were affected by a disaster.
