Gators win Roundball

Dantez Bennamon poured in a game-high 26 points to lead the Gators to the annual Roundball Classic title on Monday at North Charleston High School. The Gators defeated North Gwinnett 59-51 to improve to 10-1 on the season. Goose Creek trailed by double digits in the first half before rallying to tie in the fourth quarter and outscoring North Gwinnett 21-13 in the final six minutes to win the title. An 11-3 run over the final 90 seconds iced it for the Gators. Chris Singleton and Kameron Robinson chipped in nine points apiece for the Gators, who also defeated West Ashley (51-44) and Wings Academy (39-38) in the first two games. Jordan McElveen led the way with 11 points in the semifinal win over Wings. Bennamon had 14 points and Singleton added 13 points against West Ashley.
