Stratford heading to state final

Jacob Park threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in leading Stratford to a 36-13 victory over visiting South Pointe on Friday night in the Class AAAA playoffs.

The win puts the Knights in the state championship game for the first timce since 2004. They will take on Northwestern on Saturday, Dec. 7 at noon at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. The Trojans are unbeaten and nationally ranked.

Stratford scored 19 unanswered points in the second half to pull away from the Stallions.

“Our defense played lights out the whole night and our offense played good enough to win,” Stratford coach Ray Stackley said.
