The South Carolina Small Business Development Centers honored the Department of Commerce with the Partner of Distinction Award. The award is bestowed in appreciation of exceptional understanding and support of the mission, capabilities and economic impact of the South Carolina Small Business Development Centers.
In a ceremony at the annual S.C. SBDC awards dinner state director Michele Abraham said, “We thank the South Carolina Department of Commerce for being a key partner and advocating on behalf of the SC SBDC to ensure the continued success of our network in helping grow the economy of our state.”
Seventeen South Carolina Small Business Development Centers (SC SBDC) across the state offer individual, confidential business consulting at no cost. Consultants assist both existing and startup companies providing a variety of services, including advisement on business plans, fiscal and operations management, financing options, marketing strategies, human resources and much more. Centers conduct affordable education workshops and provide referrals to useful business resources. Specialized services include government contracting, exporting, technology commercialization, veterans business assistance and minority outreach.
