Mark Ingram has been named the Featured Style Icon for the 2014 Charleston Weddings’ Magazine Spring Bridal Show. The show, the nuptial portion of Baker Motor Company’s Charleston Fashion Week is presented by Gathering Floral + Event Design and will be held under the tents on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Marion Square.
As the Featured Style Icon, Ingram will produce a runway show with the designer gowns carried in his New York-based boutique, Mark Ingram Atelier, including internationally renowned labels like Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, and Lela Rose, as well as stunning samples from newcomer talents like Tara LaTour and Johanna Johnson. Recognized as one of the country’s leading “wedding gurus” by The New York Times, touted as an industry expert by Martha Stewart Weddings and a regular in any noteworthy national bridal trendcasting report, Ingram says he’s excited to bring his favorite new looks and new labels to Charleston. It’s also something of a homecoming for Ingram, whose mother grew up in downtown Charleston, and who still has family here “west of the Ashley,” he says. “I’m honored to be named Featured Style Icon,” says Ingram, adding that he’s especially looking forward to the March show, because, as he put it with a laugh, “Who wouldn’t want to visit Charleston in the spring?”
Widely recognized as the top bridal event in the Southeast, Charleston Weddings’ Magazine Spring Bridal Show features six runway shows by the city’s top luxury bridal boutiques, as well as shows by up-and-coming designers, including the winner of the magazine’s Emerging Bridal Designer Competition. Held in a reception-hall setting styled by Gathering Floral + Event Design, attendees to the always-sold-out event shop high-end bridal accessories while sampling savory and sweet treats from Charleston’s best wedding caterers, and sipping specialty cocktails from her best mixologists.
