Charleston Jazz Orchestra, Charleston’s own resident big band, completes its fifth anniversary Season on Saturday, Nov. 23, presenting its annual special event Holiday Swing: A Charleston Jazz Tradition. Holiday Swing will feature season highlights, ovements from CJO’s annual performance of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s Nutcracker Suite and big band arrangements on winter classics. CJO presents at the band’s House of Swing, the Charleston Music Hall, Downtown Charleston at 37 John Street.
This is the final performance of the band’s fifth season, with one set only at 7 p.m. Two sets with an intermission. Adult tickets are $30-$40. Senior tickets are $25-$35. Seniors qualify at 65 years old. Student ticket rates vary. All student and discounted tickets must be purchased in person.
