The Stratford cross country teams placed fifth and eighth respectively in the annual Sandhills Invitational meet in Columbia on Saturday.
Austin Weaver (17th, 17:15) and Kyle Thomas (27th, 17:32) were the top two runners for the boys, who had the higher finish of the two squads.
Brett Alford (33rd), Ryan Abdullah (34th) and Morgan Woods (45th) also turned in times that counted for the Knights.
Stratford finished wih 152 points in the boys race, well behind first-place team Wando. The Warriors had 73 points, coming in ahead of Spring Valley, Wade Hampton and Dutch Fork.
The Lady Knights receiving sterling finishes from their top three runners.
Alexandra Zimmer (4th, 19:06) and Bethany Reeves (6th, 19:23) were top 10 and Tiffany Hutson (13th, 19:59) also excelled.
Lauren Adams (69th) and Canada Drayton (92nd) had the other counting times for the Lady Knights.
Wade Hampton won the girls race, which had 155 competitors and 20 full teams.
Both squads will compete in the Region 7-AAAA meet on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Wannamaker Park.
