PCA, Trinity-Byrnes football game canceled, will not be made up

  • Monday, September 16, 2013

The Palmetto Christian home football game against Trinity-Byrnes this past Friday night was canceled due to weather.

A few hours before the game, strong storms swept through the area and dumped a significant amount of rain on the Park West Field, which Palmetto Christian rents from the Town of Mount Pleasant for its home football games.

According to an assistant coach, there were spots on the field that had about six inches of standing water. Trinity-Byrnes, which is from Darlington, had nearly completed its trip to Mount Pleasant when the game was called.

The non-region game will not be made up at a later date this season.
