The night of Aug. 31 presented a mystery that was solved involving three men at the Econo Lodge off North Goose Creek Boulevard.
A Vincent, Ala. man said a suspect in Room 114, a Prosperity, S.C. man, was highly intoxicated and slashed his tire, according to a Goose Creek Police Department incident report.
The victim told an officer if the suspect paid for the damages he would not pursue criminal charges. The victim said he did not witness the tire slashing but saw the suspect come from the area of his vehicle.
The suspect told an officer he was parking his boat when the victim’s friends yelled profanities at him. The suspect told an officer he was angry but did not cause damage to anyone’s property.
The suspect had a cut on his right knuckle and blood on his jeans. He told the officer he got it earlier that day, but the officer noted it appeared fresh.
The victim also noticed the tie straps to his wheel chair ramp on his vehicle were cut. The suspect agreed to pay the victim $300 for the damage and the victim did not press charges.
