Ladson martial artists shine in Classic

The inaugural South Carolina Classic martial arts tournament was held at Cane Bay High School last month as a fundraiser for Lesley Sherman, who is battling multiple sclerosis.
Among the nearly 250 competitors was a contingent from World Teoul Moon Kung Fu in Ladson.
Houston Aguilar conquered first place in sparring and second in open hand forms. James Wright took second in sparring. Hector Ostorga took second place in adult Kingz of the Ringz.
Team leader Richard Doolittle took two first places in Chinese weapons and hard style creative forms. He also took two second places in Chinese traditional forms and Chinese contemporary forms.
Other participants included Dillon Malone, Tristin Daniels and Tyler Kidwell.
