Filing for Mount Pleasant seats opens Aug. 15

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. The Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration has scheduled the Certification of the town’s Election results for Thursday, Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m.

A special town council meeting will be held to approve a resolution accepting the results of the election shortly after the official results are received from Charleston County.

That date and time will be announced at a later date.

Filing period opens: Noon, Thursday, Aug. 15

Filing period closes: Noon, Monday, Aug. 26

Filing fee: $150

Paperwork and filing fee must be turned in to the following location:

Monday – Friday

8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Hard copies of the necessary forms and information will be available for pick up on Aug. 1 at Mount Pleasant Town Hall, 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Building A.

Forms may also be obtained on the South Carolina Election Commission Website which can be found at www.scvotes.org .

A Statement of Economic Interest must be filed electronically with the South Carolina Ethics Commission.
