Ashley N. Condon, a 2013 graduate of Stratford High School, recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Condon will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, Ill.

Deas graduates

 Army Pfc. Crystal R. Deas has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Mo.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship qualification, bayonet combat, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, marches, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.
Deas is the daughter of Clara and Sam Deas of Ladson. She is a 2012 graduate of Stratford High School.

Givens joins Navy

 
Erin R. Givens, a 2010 graduate of Stratford High School, recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Givens will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, Ill.

Moultrie joins Navy

Hunter L. Moultrie, daughter of Georgiana L. Wilhelm of Goose Creek, recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Moultrie will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, Ill. Moultrie is a 2012 graduate of Goose Creek High School.

Ponce completes training

Navy Seaman Apprentice Paulo B. Ponce, a 2009 graduate of Stratford High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Ponce completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
