Better to be cooperative

  • Monday, June 24, 2013

Two women were leaving a local bar and decided to walk home. But they chose to walk (stumble, according to a police report) down the middle of the road rather than the sidewalk and a police officer happened to see them. The officer asked them what they were doing, and they responded that they each had four beers and were heading home. The officer could see that the eyes of both women were red and glassy and alcohol emanated from each one’s breath. The report said that their speech was slurred as well.

When the officer asked them how they planned to get home, (since they both lived on the Isle of Palms) both became uncooperative, according to the report. One began to raise her voice, the other could not find her license and both of them were unsteady on their feet. At that point the officer had them both turn around and arrested them for drunkenness in public.
