City approves land purchase off Redbank

  • Thursday, May 23, 2013

Goose Creek City Council approved a motion to purchase land off Redbank Road after an executive session at its regularly scheduled May 14 meeting.
According to Public Information Officer Jesica Mackey this gives City Administrator Dennis Harmon the authority to purchase three parcels of land near the intersection of U.S.-52 and Redbank Road.
The 0.7 acres of land was set to be purchased for $195,000, Mackey said. It is located across the street from the Berkeley Habitat For Humanity ReStore, a Wendy’s and a hotel.
“On the other side there is vacant land,” Mackey said, adding that the city is not sure what they will do with the land yet but plan to redevelop it.
