Pinewood Back Nine raises $15,000

More than 300 runners registered for the Pinewood Back Nine 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on April 20. The event benefited Chase After a Cure, a local nonprofit that raises money for pediatric cancer research at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Pinewood Preparatory School in Summerville. Participants raced along the golf course path at Legend Oaks Golf & Tennis Club in Summerville. The event raised $15,000.

The overall winner of the 5K run was Keenan Miller of Summerville with a time of 17:45. The top female finisher was Megan Hritz of Mount Pleasant with a time of 22:39.
